THAMES GATEWAY COLLEGE (TGC) ANNOUNCES PLANS TO RELOCATE FROM CEME CAMPUS
Thames Gateway College (TGC) today announces its withdrawal from the Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence (CEME) in Rainham.
The College has decided not to renew its tenancy agreement following a proposed and significant increase in rental costs at the CEME site.
TGC learners will remain at the CEME site until the end of the current academic year (31 July 2010), and the curriculum will continue to be delivered as usual. All current learners are guaranteed a place on their course in September 2010 at an alternative site. Details are currently being finalised and all courses will resume at either Havering College or Barking & Dagenham College sites.
Learners and staff are being kept fully informed about the arrangements for September. Letters explaining the changes are also being sent to both prospective students and employers.
TGC has worked successfully with CEME since 2003, however, by making this move, students will receive a more personalised level of service, ensuring their whole learning experience is enhanced.
Stuart Woosnam , Head of TGC, said: “Thames Gateway College is looking forward to delivering continued provision of excellent teaching and quality learning at new locations. Our learners remain at the forefront of what we do and we will ensure they continue to receive the highest quality learning experience.”
Thames Gateway College is a long-standing, successful collaboration between Barking & Dagenham College and Havering College, and this partnership will continue. TGC staff will relocate with their students to the alternative sites.
